Yellow Card Procedure

Email Yellow Card Reports to:  mmilcetic@section3online.com

NOCSAE rated shinguards are mandatory starting with the 2008 season.  IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Per 2008-09 NFHS Soccer Rule 4-1-1: ³Beginning with the 2008 fall season,
shinguards must meet the National Operating Committee on Standards for
Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE) specifications. Equipment shall not be modified
from its original manufactured state and shall be worn in the manner the
manufacturer intended it to be worn.²

As in all NOCSAE products - Products that are NOCSAE certified are given
this designation with a NOCSAE seal embossed on the actual equipment or
stamped on the tag (see attached slides). If this is not the case then they
are considered illegal for NFHS competition.

We are hearing that a few individuals have decided to take this tag off the
actual shinguard. If this happens than these guards are considered illegal.

If a coach is ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct (including the penalty for improperly equipped players - see below) and the game can not continue due to the lack of a certified coach appointed by the Board of Education, the game will be deemed a forfeit.

Beginning in the 2007 fall season, officials will no longer check player equipment.  The Head Coach will be responsible for ensuring that each player is properly equipped.  If a player is sent off the field as not being properly equipped, it will result in a yellow card for the Head Coach.  If a second player is then sent off for the same reason the Head Coach will be issued a 2nd yellow card that will result in a red card being issued.  This will result in the Head Coach being ejected from the game, and not able to coach the next scheduled contest.
